Today I’m going to be telling you some things you can do when you’re bored! My family and I usually keep pretty busy. Going here and there, doing this and that. But, on those weekends when everyone else is relaxing and you’re dying of boredom? Here’s a small list of stuff to do that will help you to have and not be bored!
5 Things to Do to Fight Summer Boredom.
Reading! You can read a book. Any book, a chapter book, a picture book, or even an informational book. Reading is good for you and your brain because: one, it triggers your imagination making you think and making you wake up! And two, if you are enjoying a good book then you’re going to want to read more. By the time you stop, you probably won’t be bored anymore and maybe even sleepy. That’s what you get by using all that brain power!!
Ahh, writing. One of my favorites. You can write a story! It doesn’t take much. A pencil, some paper, an eraser, and some imagination! You can write a story about anything! It could be a scary story, a funny one or a sad one. It also takes up a good chunk of time. It doesn’t always have to be ”Once Upon a Time” or ”And They All Lived Happily Ever After.” When you’re writing a story, poem, or anything else, be original. Just be you.
Arts and crafts. It’s SO fun. Like I said with writing, you can make anything! Once again you won’t need a lot of materials. Some construction paper, paint, pencils, markers, scissors, glue and of course, your imagination! Once you have all your materials you can go ahead and get started! From amazing structures and paintings, to small trees and stick people. It all counts. As long as your having fun, you won’t be bored!
You should only play video games once in a while. But, sometimes, it’s fun to play games to help you fight boredom. I know that I enjoy playing Minecraft with my friends and Just Dance gets me up and moving. I like games that get me active too and that help me use my brain at the same time.
SPORTS! I. LOVE. SPORTS. There are so many options! There’s basketball, soccer, tennis, track and field, and much more. One thing that I love about sports is that you’re moving ALL the time. In sports, there’s never a dull moment. It also keeps you active and healthy. Another thing to keep in mind is when you’re playing sports, ALWAYS make sure that you are hydrated. Have a bottle of water or Gatorade in reach. If you don’t you might get really sick, which nobody wants. Another awesome perk about sports is: once your done, showered, and relaxed you will most likely want to sleep and you’ll forget all about that time where you were complaining that you were bored!
Other fun things to do is enjoy the weather. If you’re lucky and you have a pool, well, you shouldn’t be bored. You have a pool! Use it and enjoy it under the sun! If you don’t have a pool, you can always go to a splash pad, beach or hook up your sprinkler and get refreshed! Don’t forget that you can ride your bike or scooter! That’s always fun!
Learn a New Hobby.
When I’m bored, I like trying new things. Sometimes finding a hobby can help you fight boredom. I know that I have learned to cook a lot of dishes this way. When you try something new, you won’t even notice the time flying by!
How do you fight summer boredom?
